Davit Agmashenebeli University of Georgia Ltd. (SDASU – hereinafter referred to as “University”, abbreviated as “SDASU”) is a 27-year-old subject of modern Georgian educational space, a defender of national and universal values, focused on using intellectual resources for successful European integration and development.
The establishment of the University is connected with the idea of restoring Georgia’s independence, the creation of a social protection society by its rector, Professor Teimuraz Koridze in 1987, and the establishment of the “Support and Raising” Society on July 11, 1991.
The Society “Support and Ascension” united the country’s meritorious scientists, who under the leadership of Professor Teimuraz Koridze and with the blessing of His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia, established the first private higher education institution in Georgia “David Agmashenebeli Tbilisi Institute of Economics”.In 1992, by the decision of the founders of the institute, the name of the institute was changed to “David Agmashenebeli University of Georgia”.
The University offers educational programs in medicine, dentistry, law, journalism, economics, business administration, finance and banking, tourism, English philology, and engineering.
By the order N 65 / a of the Accreditation Council of Higher Education Institutions of Georgia of October 16, 2006, Davit Agmashenebeli University of Georgia was granted institutional accreditation from the 2007-2008 academic year; According to the decision N 83 of the Board of Authorization of Educational Institutions of 2011, David Agmashenebeli University of Georgia was granted the status of a higher educational institution from the 2012-2013 academic year.
In the conditions of modern integration, global challenges and growing competition, SDASU has become a leader in the educational and scientific center with international standards, which is guaranteed to offer high quality educational services to the society with the prospect of its continuous development and improvement; Takes care of raising the level of university awareness and development in the country, the region (Caucasus) and internationally; Provides for the training of highly competitive specialists with competencies relevant to modern requirements through the personal and professional development of students. Since 2011 the University has been operating at all three levels of higher education – Law, Business Organization and Management, Finance and Banking, Tourism, Information Technology, Journalism.
The university has a building equipped with modern standards, training auditoriums, conference and gymnasiums, press club, computer centers, library with rich book fund and electronic resources, simulated courtroom, forensic laboratory, Georgian-English Dental Clinic, Virtual Simulation Primary -Center, authorized TV-radio broadcasting equipped with modern high-tech equipment: “SDASU TV” and “SDASU RADIO”.
